WordPress Theme Documentation


Basic introduction about Country Inn Theme setup.

Theme Installation

From WordPress Dashboard

  1. Log in to the WordPress Administration Panels.
  2. Go to the Appearance > Themes
  3. Click Add New
  4. Upload the Zip file of Country Inn
  5. After Installing the theme Click Activate button

FTP Installation (alternate method)

  1. Use your FTP software to browse to wp-content/themes folder.
  2. Extract countryinn.zip and upload the folder.
  3. Once it’s uploaded, go to your WordPress Admin, browse to Appearance > Themes
  4. Click the Activate button.

Dummy Data

After theme activation, For well-functioning of our theme, it recommends certain plugin to install. Click on Begin installing plugins, which will install all the necessary plugin automatically. After installation of all plugins, active theme all.

After installation of all the recommended plugins, Go to Appearance > Import Demo Data and choose demo which you want to import. Click on Import button.

Setup Homepage and Blog page

After install demo content, you'll see a page Homepage. This page will be used as the homepage of the website. To set it as homepage, please go to Settings  >  Reading, under Front page displays, please chose A static page (select below) and select Homepage for Front page and Blog page for Posts page.

Adding Pages / Posts

Adding a new page is the same way as default WordPress installations, however, there are extra options that might need explaining. Usually each page have content and featured image. You can enable Excerpt Field too.

  1. Go to Admin Panel
  2. Go to Pages > Add New
  3. Give the title of the Page
  4. Write the content of the Page
  5. Scroll to down and see the right corner, you will find the Set Featured Image section
  6. Click Publish

This theme can fully customize from the Customize section. To customize theme, Go to Appearance > Customize. You will find the various options related to theme. You can add as many pages as you want.

Adding Content

Create or Edit a Menu

This theme supports Custom Menu. You can set it through the following steps.

  1. Go to Appearance > Menus
  2. Give your menu a name and build it up using little widgets on the left.
  3. You can add Pages, Posts, Custom Links and Categories
  4. On the right, feel free to drag and drop menu items to organize them
  5. You can order your menu position with drag and drop option as well.
  6. Now simply select the Display Location to Primary / Footer for your newly created menus using a widget on the left. Afterwards, click Save.

Categories

  1. Go to Administration Panels
  2. Go to Posts > Categories
  3. Give the Title of the category
  4. Click on Save
  5. The added category will appear on the Add Post Page.

Setup Widget Areas

Country Inn theme has 11 widget areas by default:

Set Up Home Page

If you want to create Home Page similar to demo but without importing demo content, you can follow the following procedure.

1. Install Theme Country Inn
  • Go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Themes > Add New and search theme Country Inn
  • Click on Install and then Activate
2. Create Page for Home
  • Go to Admin panel > Pages > Add New
  • Give the title of the page (Example: Home Page)
  • Click on Publish to publish the page.
3. Add Content in Home page
  • Go to Admin panel > Appearance > Widgets
  • In Home page widget area drag and drop widgets form Available Widgets.
4. Create Blog Page
  • Follow the same above page creation method.
  • In Page Attributes panel in right part, select Default template as page template.
  • Click on Publish to publish the page.
5. Set Homepage and Blog page

Please set home page and blog page with following procedure.

  • Go to Admin panel > Settings > Reading
  • Click on “A static page (select below)”
  • Set Front page: (Home Page recently created above)
  • Posts page:(Blog you recently created)
6. Theme Customizer

After setting the Front Page and Blog page. Go to Appearance > Customize, all available theme options are here.

Customize

When you go to Admin Panel > Appearance > Customize , there you find various options available. Just try those options one by one you will able to understand how the theme works and can create any kinds of sites.

Site Identity

  • Go to Customize > Site Identity
  • You will get the options to manage Site title, Tagline,Logo and Fav Icons
  • Use the available options and change as per your needs.
  • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.

Colors

  • Go to Customize > Colors
  • This option help you to set header text color and background color of your website.
  • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.

Header Image

  • Go to Customize > Header Image
  • This option help you to set page header background image.
  • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.

Background Image

  • Go to Customize > Background Image
  • This option help you to set background image of your site.
  • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.

Theme options

From Appearance > Customize > Theme Option, You will find verious settings in this widget. Now setup the widget according to your need.

  • Header Types
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Header Types
    • Select the header type as you need.
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Top Header Info
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Top Header Info
    • You can Show / Hide top header.
    • This option helps you to set Phone number and Address of your site with related icon.
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Front Page Options
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Front Page Options
    • Hide Blog Posts or Static Page on Front Page
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Slider Setting Options
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Slider Setting Options
    • This setting helps you to add banner slider in home page.
    • Show / Hide banner slider in homepage
    • Click Add New Slider > Select page for slider > Set button text and button link
    • Copy and Paste the slider code if you want to use third party plugin.
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Default Sidebar Layout Options
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Default Sidebar Layout
    • This setting helps you to set your default side bar in pages and posts.
    • Choose sidebar position form drop down option.
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Blog / Archive Layout Options
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Blog / Archive Layout Options
    • Change Dedcription Format, Blog title and Change meta options.
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Search
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Search
    • This setting helps you to change the search placeholder text.
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • News Letter Subscription
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > News Letter Subscription<
    • This setting helps you to set newsletter code, title and description.
    • Copy and Paste your Newsletter short code.
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Disable Animation
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Disable Animation
    • This setting helps you enable / disable animation.
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Color Options
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Color Options
    • This setting helps you to change color of verious field in your website.
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Single Page Options
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Single Page Options
    • This setting helps you to show / Hide featured image in single page.
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Footer Option
    • Go to Customize > Theme Option > Footer Option
    • Change footer text and site powered text
    • If the preview is fine Click on Publish to save the changes.

Typography Options

Typography lets you choose and update your fonts and styling for Body, Heading, Menu Links and Signature. Checkout its different setting and set it as your needs.

  • Go to Appearance > Customize > Typography Options
  • Change font, styling for body, heading, menus and signature.
  • Click on Save & Publish to save the changes.

Menus

Menu options lets you choose and various pages in the menu located at different sections. It has the following options:

  • Go to Appearance > Customize > Menus > View all location
  • You can update title and locations for the menus.
  • Click on Save & Publish to save the changes.

Widget

Widgets let you add and update some extra feature on your site like pages, text, images etc. Go to Appearance > Customize > Widget, It includes the followings:

  • Home page Widget Area

    This widgets lets you show different sections in home page.

    • Go to Appearance > Customize > Widgets > Home page Widget Area.
    • You can add, edit and change the order of the widgets in this setting.
    • Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Footer Widget Area 1
    • Go to Appearance > Customize > Widgets > Footer Widget Area 1.
    • You can update widgets in the first column of the footer.
    • Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Footer Widget Area 2
    • Go to Appearance > Customize > Widgets > Footer Widget Area 2.
    • You can update widgets in the second column of the footer.
    • Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Footer Widget Area 3
    • Go to Appearance > Customize > Widgets > Footer Widget Area 3.
    • You can update widgets in the third column of the footer.
    • Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Footer Widget Area 4
    • Go to Appearance > Customize > Widgets > Footer Widget Area 4.
    • You can update widgets in the third column of the footer.
    • Click on Publish to save the changes.
  • Award Image
    • Go to Appearance > Customize > Widgets > Award Image.
    • Upload and update your award images in this section.
    • Click on Publish to save the changes.

Homepage Settings

This is the same setting like in set Home page (5), Reading Setting.

Additional CSS

Go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS. Additional CSS lets you update the outlook of the site by adding more CSS to the theme.

Our Team

Adding new Team member page is as same as Adding Pages / Posts. Add Title, Description, Featured Image, Social Links and Designation

  • Go to Admin panel > Our Team > Add New
  • Give the title of the Page
  • Write the content of the Page
  • Set social links
  • Set Featured Image
  • Click Publish

Testimonials

Adding new Testimonial page is as same as Adding Pages / Posts. Add Title, Description, Featured Image, and Country

  • Go to Admin panel > Testimonials > Add New
  • Give the title of the Page
  • Write the content of the Page
  • Set Featured Image
  • Set Country
  • Click Publish

Our Gallery

Adding new Gallery is as same as Adding Pages / Posts.

  • Go to Admin panel > Testimonials > Add New
  • Give the title of the Page
  • Write the content of the Page
  • Set Featured Image
  • Set Country
  • Click Publish
